10-22-20  VIDEO PREMIERES TO SUPPORT VICTIMS OF THE ALMEDA FIRE – Craig Chaquico premiered a personal music video featuring his composition, “Winter Flame,” to say thank you to the firefighters and first responders and to raise funds for the victims of the devastating Sept. 8, 2020 Almeda Fire in his community of the Rogue Valley in Oregon which killed three people, and destroyed 2,357 residential structures. The video originally aired on October 21st during a Live fundraising event on the Southern Oregon NBC affiliate stations and continues to raise funds internationally via YouTube and other outlets.

MESSAGE FROM CRAIG: I’d like to give a heartfelt thanks to all of the United Together United Way Fire Fund virtual concert sponsors, volunteers, media reporters, and say that it was an honor to have been invited to participate in this broadcast, along with many fine Rogue Valley musicians and vocalists, to help generate greatly needed funds to support victims of the recent Almeda Fire in Southern Oregon. The Live benefit, which included the premiere of this “Winterflame” video, raised just under $30,000.00 and it is still coming in. There will be matching foundation grants, as well.
Thank you to so many people now giving so much after having lost so much. I’ll personally never forget all of the signs and messages of love and support left immediately on fences beside the burned homes and land where individuals and families used to live and made memories together. And while these signs and banners, and those thanking the fighters of the fire and first responders, may soon be gone, but the heart behind them will remain forever.
This video was, and continues to be, my way of hanging yet another one of those signs up, along with everyone else’s, from my heart to all of yours. We will find our way back because while we may have lost so much, we’ve never lost the heart.” — Craig Chaquico
